In yesterday’s cliffhanger, I promised to tell you how to automatically talk to your readers without lifting a finger. You set it up once, and then forget about it.

The secret?

Auto-responders. An auto-responder is an email that you set up in advance.

There are lots of different ways to use autoresponders too.

How to use autoresponders

For example, you can set one up to welcome new subscribers to your newsletter.

Welcome them, tell them a bit about what your content will be, and give them a sample. A follow-up automatic message could ask for feedback on the newsletter, if they have any questions, etc.

Or, you could develop an e-course, with a series of lessons teaching your readers how to do something. I have a free email marketing course that does this.

Adjust your content for your audience

Another option is a series of emails designed for your different audiences. If you run a photography blog, you might have an autoresponder series for beginners, another for photography gadget lovers, and a third for new parents.

What other uses can you think of?
