My friiiend (from Triiiibes) Kes is sponsoring a TEDx next Sunday.
What the heck is TEDx? Well, it’s a locally organized version of TED.
OK, Jodi, will you please tell me what the heck TED is?!
Well, TED is a conference. But not a normal conference. It’s about really smart, interesting (and diverse) people getting together to share ideas. Not just blab to a complacent, quiet audience, but to collaborate, make connections, and change the world in some way.
Back to our story, Kes’s conference is called Reinvention. Speakers? They’ve got speakers. Like David Armano (reinventing social media), Angela Lussier (reinventing work), Anne McCrossan (reinventing the organization) and Frank Lanz (reinventing gaming). Oh, and at the end of the day, there’s always Derek Brown (reinventing the cocktail).
And, after that, they’re going to get together and try to figure out a way to fix the Gulf oil spill.
The conference is called TedXPennQuarter. More details here. If you can’t be there in person, they’ll have streaming.
