Five Free Marketing Tools

Five free tools to help you get more traffic, check your rankings in Alexa and Technorati (sites that track blog popularity), and learn more about the people who visit your site.

1. Web Site Grader

This free SEO tool analyzes your site, grades your keyword effectiveness, and tells you where you rank in Alexa and Technorati. Just go to the site, type in your URL and click the button.

2. “We “We Calculator“.

An automated version of my One Minute Marketing Test. Paste in the text from your home page or a sales page, and it will tell you whether your site is focused on you, or on your customers.

3.  Quantcast

Quantcast  estimates the demographics for your site (so you know who’s looking) or at any registered site you choose.

4.  Google Keyword Tool

Plug in search terms and find out how popular they are. This is a good way to do some quick market research before you invest in Adwords.

5.  Google Wonder Wheel

The wonder wheel shows you search terms and visual connections to similar terms, as well as standard text results. Enter your search term, then the show more options button, and then select wonder wheel from the menu on the left.
